Overview Submerged Hidden Depths:
Boat, climb, solve and explore in the beautiful ruins of a sunken world. A drowned city, crumbling tips of skyscrapers stubbornly standing above the waves. Deserted villages, now inhabited by enigmatic creatures. And beneath the surging ocean waits an anguished, angry presence. Submerged: Hidden Depths is a non-combat third-person “relaxploration” adventure, set in the sunken ruins of a beautiful world. Take on the role of Miku and Taku – one cursed with a mysterious power that she wants to use for good, the other determined not to let it tear them apart. UE4 game so, suffers from some stuttering/rendering issues on PC (as with many other games I’ll try tweaking some settings to try and find what works best). Seems to really not scale well to high-end hardware, it doesn’t load-up my GPU (RTX 3090) even on higher resolutions. Got stuck on textures while exploring a few areas such as around the big hotel building. No checkpoints so, just had to restart the whole area. The game is great (like previous in series), but suffered from optimisation. Also if you turn off music (usually I’m playing without in-game music) cut-off/prerendered scenes will be without any sound at all. Another great thing is that you whenever you cast a creature you have the option of making it real or an illusion. Real creatures are subject to casting chances, with stronger creatures like dragons and hydras being quite difficult to cast. Conversely, illusions work every time, but they can be destroyed instantly with the disbelieve spell. This adds a bluffing element to the game. Each time you see an enemy creature you wonder if it’s real or an illusion, but the only way to find out is either by killing it or by casting disbelieve, and if it turns out that the creature is real then you will have wasted your chance to cast a spell for that turn and may find yourself wishing you hadn’t.
